2009

Holiday season is finally here

My Summer has officially started

June 26 11:15 PM, as the following image appeared on the screen, my summer officially began.

With hugs and Hi-Fives from mom and dad, the moment also felt like watching Kobe hitting the game-winning buzzer-beater in Game 7 of the NBA Finals or

Now I can really start to enjoy the up-coming trip to Banff, trip to China and everything else in the summer.  Unlike in previous nights, now I could not fall asleep for a totally different reason.

今年暑假我主要会在wordpress写一些blog: mike2008.wordpress.com

High School Valedictory Ceremony

As the Gaokao ends in China, I’ve graduated from high school in Canada.  The valedictory ceremony was held in Chan Center in UBC, the university I’ll attend next year.  After all this is only the high school graduation, I wasn’t too excited about it, although it was a pretty spectacular scene out there.  After I found out that I’ll receive a scholarship, I realized that there was still something worth waiting for.  The grand symphony and the humorous speeches kept me awake throughout the afternoon.  Getting up to the stage kept my brain from thinking about the hunger once and again.  The 1000-dollar scholarship wasn’t too bad neither at the end.

Finally, Congratulations to Class of 2008!!!  I’m gonna miss you all!!!

Second bimonthly report

It has been a busy year, so I can only write such bimonthly report…

The biggest news is that I got into UBC Science! Although it still depends on my LPI and English final mark, and it is not the best destination I wanted to be, but I’m still pretty happy about it.  I can still live in the “best place to live on Earth” (the reason I won’t go to Toronto), and stay in touch with all of my friends.

For those of you who don’t know about UBC, here’s a little background info from Wikipedia:

The University of British Columbia (UBC) is a Canadian public research university. The Vancouver campus is located on Point Grey, a peninsula about ten km from downtown Vancouver.  UBC consistently ranks as one of the top three Canadian universities. In 2006, Newsweek magazine ranked the UBC second in Canada and 27th in the world. In 2007, the Times Higher Education Supplement ranked UBC as second in Canada and 33rd in the world.

Everything else is fine.  Everyday is very enjoyable.  Life is much easier without worrying about Gaokao, but there is room for me to relax neither.

Olympic Torch is on its way to my hometown.  Although I’ll be there earlier than the flame, I just can’t wait to go back to Beijing and meet people I’ve missed a lot.  And to whoever is protesting against China, please stop disturbing the torch relay – it has NOTHING to do with politics.

The Lakers finished first in the west, swept the Nuggets 4-0, and is waiting the Jazz for Game 1 on Sunday.  Kobe won his first regular season MVP.  The Canucks disappointed everyone.

Huge week is coming up next – AP Calculus and LPI test.  Good luck to everyone who will be there with me!

First two months of 2008

What a bad time to have a cold!  When I woke up on the day of the TOEFL, my throat was hurting me so much!  And along with sleepiness, I couldn’t read into the test at the beginning, and then I just blew the speaking part.  Fortunately, I felt I did well on the writing part.  Hope everything will be better than what I thought it would be.

This is my first blog since a long time.  It has been a busy 2008 so far.  I’ve battled with ETS for the third time until yesterday, and there’s another one coming on in May (AP Calculus).  I had a wonderful night at the winter formal.

I am really surprised and amazed by the No.1 team in the west – L.A. Lakers, and the dunks by Superman Howard.  O, btw, welcome to L.A. PAU GASOL!

This is probably the most exciting thing for me: a ticket to Beijing in July.  I’ll take a trip by MYSELF to Yunnan before exploring the city of BEIJING, though I can experience the new terminal 3 of PEK first.

But before all of that, I need to settle down thing here in Canada by continuing put in effort in study.

P.S. road test next week! yeah!
